Moving Assets between networks
Bridging Assets onto Polygon.
Polygon is a multi-chain system, which provides secure, fast transactions with extremely low transaction fees. We believe that being one of the earliest adopters of Polygon has given us an innovative edge against other platforms.
It allows us to leverage fast transactions and low costs, coupling it with intelligent investment strategies such as auto-compounding.
With the number of blockchains out there, why did Polycat pick Polygon? Please read our Medium article, where we discuss this decision and more. 🧐
In order to use Polycat, you'll need to send some assets onto the Polygon blockchain. This process is called bridging. Depending on the originating blockchain, the bridge you use will differ.
The official Polygon MATIC Wallet has a built in bridge, where you can send various assets from Ethereum (ETH). Note that a fee will need to be paid in ETH to bridge your assets.
This bridge currently supports a variety of tokens and is easy to use. It is the official and recommended method to bridge funds safely onto Polygon blockchain.
Worried about not having any MATIC for gas fees after bridging? Fear not, you will be given 0.01 MATIC when first using the bridge, which will cover quite a few transactions to get you started! Purrrr-fect! 😸
⚠ Research is required to find the cheapest fees and if the chain you're bridging from is supported to go directly to Polygon or needs to be bridged between multiple chains: Chain you're on -> BSC -> Polygon
⚠ During busy times, the exit liquidity on these sites may be insufficient for your desired amount. Keep refreshing every so often, to check when there is enough liquidity for your transaction before completing it! A fee is charged for using these services, which will be detailed for you before accepting the transfer. EvoDefi and Rubic you can directly buy $FISH using the bridge which is what is hyperlinked
Bridging is unsupported by Polycat and if assistance with missing funds is needed you will need to directly reach out to the bridge providers, do so at your own risk! ☝😼
Currently, AscendEX (formerly BitMax), Binance, Huobi Wallet, Okex and Kucoin support withdrawals straight to Polygon blockchain.
No bridge is required for this. You will need to register an account to use the exchanges. There may be fees associated with withdrawals. Exchanges only support deposits/withdrawals from specific tokens.
Always DYOR on the exchange, their supported tokens and fees! 📜🔍🐈
If for one reason or another, you find yourself out of MATIC for gas, you can always use one of the MATIC faucets to help you out. 😽👌⛲
